General Information for Parents

  • Please check MMS frequently for your student's grades. It is updated weekly! If you have a question about an assignment or a grade please check with your student first before contacting me.
  • I am always available for extra help before school and during enrichment periods.
  • I assign homework daily. Typically, I check homework for completion, but I will collect it on occasion to grade for accuracy. Each homework assignment is worth 4 points, and I do not accept late homework. If your student misses class, the assignment is entered into the grade book as a zero until he or she approaches me with the assignment. Missed work is the student's responsibility!

Tips for Helping Your Student Study

  •       A study guide is given before every test. Students should study the study guide problems. The best way to study math is to practice it! Therefore, it can be helpful to try the problems multiple times! Answers and solutions to the study guide will be given in class. It is the student’s responsibility to copy them onto their study guide.
  • Try homework problems again. Students should have all answers to the homework and will now be able to go back and try those problems for a second time.
  • Study any new vocabulary for the current unit. Flashcards are a great way to do so!
  • Review important class notes and investigations.
  • Review any past quizzes and/or worksheets from the same unit. Learn from the mistakes made!
  • If calculators are permitted on the assessment, practice locating the important buttons on the calculator with your student.
  • Try any kind of extra practice resources on Khan Academy or on the online text for that particular unit.
