Brandon Robinson is excited to continue to be part of the Jefferson-Morgan School District family and plans to utilize his prior experiences at Jefferson-Morgan to make the Middle/High School the best building it can be.
Mr. Robinson attended Waynesburg University for his bachelor's degree and California University of Pennsylvania for his Master’s Degree & Principals Certification. He also holds a Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility from Point Park University.
Mr. Robinson lives in Canonsburg, PA with his wife Melissa and son Kyler. He is a sports enthusiast and enjoys coaching football and basketball as well as playing various sports.
Mr. Robinson believes that each student is unique in their own way and need a safe, caring, and challenging atmosphere to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is important for students to develop self-esteem, sensitivity, creativity, and respect for others as well as improve upon their critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and research skills while learning how to work collaboratively with others.
One important philosophy that Mr. Robinson tries to convey to all students and staff is a growth mindset. In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work- - -brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Our students are taught that with hard work and a belief in themselves, they can accomplish many things. The “growth mindset” comes from Stanford University’s Dr. Carole Dweck. All students will hear this message many times throughout the year
