From Library to Learning Commons
The Jefferson-Morgan Middle/High School Learning Commons is a space designed to inspire students to create, collaborate, take online courses, and communicate using technology. In the Learning Commons, students explore a variety of dynamic resources for all students and faculty to use to facilitate engaged learning.
Students enjoy a quiet study area, flexible work stations for small and large group meetings, an extensive print and digital resource library, and an ever-growing collection of instructional technologies. The JM Learning Commons is staffed each period by a teacher throughout the day. Books can be checked out by a certified librarian during flex period, 1st period, and 5th period, daily. Students that are taking an online course each period will report to the learning commons to complete their coursework.
Teachers may sign out the Learning Commons to work on various projects within their curriculum.
Teachers may also send any student individually to the Learning Commons with an E-Hallpass to work on makeup work, or to catch up on a project.
Books can be checked out by a certified librarian during flex period, 1st period, and 5th period, daily.
