NJHS Standards

Scholarship - This is a commitment to learning. You must be willing to spend hours in reading and study in order to cultivate your mind. You must never participate in any form of cheating or plagiarism.

Leadership - A leader exercises positive influence on their peers in upholding school ideals and spirit. You should take the initiative in class and school activities, the real leader strives to train and aid other to attain the same objective. You need to demonstrate reliability and dependability and inspire positive behavior in others. You should successfully hold school offices or positions of responsibility.

Service - Service is considered to be a those actions undertaken by you which are done with or on behalf of others without any direct financial or material compensation.

Citizenship - You need to understand the importance of civic involvement. You should have high regard for freedom and justice and respect the U.S. form of government. You are to respect the laws at the local, state, and federal level that protect the government.

Character - A student of character takes criticism willingly and accepts recommendations graciously. You should cooperate by complying with school regulations concerning property, programs, offices and halls. You should demonstrate the highest standards of honesty and reliability. You should be courteous and respectful of others, and always be punctual. You need to observe instructions and rules both inside and outside of the classroom. You should be actively working to rid the school of bad influences.
