National Honor Society Membership Information


Dear students:

An important change has been made in the selection process for National Honor Society.

Traditionally, National Honor Society has selected new members for induction during the spring. Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, new candidates for National Honor Society will be notified of eligibility in September. Induction of new members will take place in October 2016.

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, eligible sophomore members must have 16 hours of documented service; junior members must have 24 hours of documented service and senior members must have 32 hours of documented service.

Membership in the Jefferson-Morgan National Honor Society is both an honor and a responsibility. Students selected for membership are expected to continue to demonstrate the qualities of scholarship, service, leadership and character.

Students are expected to regularly attend meetings, maintain regular school attendance, and perform both individual and chapter service projects during the year.

Students who fall below the standards by which they were selected will be subject to disciplinary measures and possible dismissal from National Honor Society.
