Anatomy & Physiology

Course Description

Welcome to Anatomy! Below are some of the upcoming events for Anatomy and a little information on how I run my class. If possible, please have your student bring a 1/2" binder (or larger, just not smaller because they won't fit) to school on Monday. I will be passing out packets to the students that will go in the binders. All of their homework, notes, and vocabulary roots will be in the binder.

Homework: The homework for Anatomy comes from the Gray's Anatomy Coloring Book. The students will complete the sections that are related to the topics that we are covering. All of their assignments will be completed in class. If you student is absent, and they would like to complete the coloring, they may do so. It is located at the end of each chapter, and will be due the day after the test.

Vocabulary Quizzes: Because Anatomy has a unique way that it names things, we will have a weekly quiz over the Greek and Latin roots upon which these names are based. The quizzes will generally be on Fridays, but may be on a Monday if there is a test on Friday. Attached are the vocabulary words.

Tests: We will have a test over each chapter. Each chapter takes about two weeks to complete. I will email you the study guide at least 3 days before the test, and your student will also get a hard copy.

Notes: All of the notes that are in the light blue book (binder), will be filled in during class, using the power points that I have prepared. If you would like a copy of the power point, please let me know, and I will get it to you.

Contacting me: My planning period is from 10:55-11:30. I will return any emails or phone calls during this time. You may email me at [email protected] or call my room (which will automatically go to voicemail) at 724-883-2310 *2216.

Webpage: You can access my webpage by going towww.jmsd.org. Please choose “Contact Us”, then “Middle/High School Staff Directory” & click on my name to access my webpage.

I look forward to working with you and your student this year. Anatomy is a challenging subject, but I know that if we work hard, we will survive! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
