This is a 9 week course. In Writing 8, students focus mainly on narrative writing. The class looks at examples of different genres in literature and writing. Some persuasive prompts on current events are included. For the final project, an autobiography is written using the book Writing Your Life by Mary Borg. All papers for the final project will be revised for the finished product. The students will demonstrate the ability to write research papers with a Works Cited page using MLA format and will begin to use parenthetical citations in their papers. The students will read a book of their choice and will have stories read to them.The students will write and create a project for their final grade.
