This course examines the literary novel and its elements building on the literary elements and concepts presented in Novel Approach 7. Students will read, analyze, and interpret the novel, The Book Thief, during the course of the quarter. Students will study and utilize vocabulary lists for the selected texts, as well as employ their previous knowledge of literary elements to help them interpret the novel. Students will also have the opportunity to view a film version of the novel to compare and contrast the novels in a different medium.
