Natalie Dawn Franks Memorial Scholarship

Natalie Dawn Franks, was a student at Jefferson-Morgan School District. Natalie was unable to walk, talk, or hold someone’s hand.  However, she touched many lives.  It was the dedication of her parents and family, Natalie’s medical team, and her beloved teachers that provided Natalie with a happy life.  Each year the Franks’ family gives a scholarship to a senior who’s entering the medical or educational field because the family knows the tremendous difference they are going to make in the world.  The loving care that they witnessed Natalie receiving motivated her brother Denny to become a head nurse in a large state facility of adults with special needs.  Dennis Mati, Natalie’s teacher for many years was one of her favorites.  The sound of his footsteps, smell of his cologne, and his presence provided Natalie with so much joy.   In education, it is the little things that impact the lives of our students. Education is a career where you can’t wait to see your students and sad when your day is at its end. This year’s scholarship was donated by the Franks family in memory of Natalie Dawn Franks.

Caitlyn Dugan, you have chosen a career that will lead you to a blessed life.  Congratulations Caitlyn, the Franks’ family is very excited for your future and wish the class of 2020 all the best.

2020 “Big Steve” Yourchik  Scholarship

The Steve Yourchik Scholarship was established in 2009 and is governed by the trustees of the scholarship fund.

This scholarship was established by teammates, friends and family; “Big Steve” was bigger than life, happy, fun-loving, and a joy to be around.  He loved to work and had exceptional work ethics for such a young man, and he would get the job done.  He also had an uncanny gift to relate to all ages, the very young as well as the elderly, and all ages in between.

He was a Christian, a true friend, a great son, brother, nephew and cousin, loved and missed by all – “A Good Ole Country Boy” with a heart of gold.

This scholarship is not only about your grades and continuing education, but your character, and work ethic and how you interact with other people as well.
